Celebrating Nixer Comp’s 5-Year Anniversary – April 1, 2025

April 1st—a day often filled with pranks and surprises—took on a transformative significance in 2020. As the world faced the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, uncertainty loomed large for everyone. Yet, amidst this global turmoil, we made a courageous decision to launch our new business, seizing the opportunity to forge meaningful connections within the temporary staffing industry. With unshakeable confidence and support from our insured clients and industry partners, we aimed to make a substantial impact. While many retreated into caution, we moved forward together, driven by a shared vision of excellence.

From day one, Nixer Comp committed to offering more than just workers’ comp coverage; we aspired to build a program that truly understood the unique challenges faced by staffing companies and their client insureds. Our goal was to deliver a level of service that would not only meet expectations but also elevate the entire industry.

Fast forward five dynamic years, and we are proud to still serve our very first policyholder, a testament to the trust and collaboration we’ve built together. In this short time, we have expanded our reach and influence, supporting a growing network of partners and clients nationwide. What began as a response to a crisis has blossomed into what we believe is the premier workers’ compensation program designed specifically for the staffing sector. But our story is far more than a tale of growth; it’s about the incredible people—our client insureds, partners, and team members—who have shaped our journey.

This milestone provides me with the perfect opportunity to honor three exceptional leaders whose commitment, passion, and unwavering dedication have been instrumental in shaping our organization, as well as the experiences of our clients and partners:

  • Jennifer Jennings, Vice President of Underwriting: With her keen insight and strategic foresight, Jennifer has infused clarity and discipline into our underwriting operations. Her extensive industry knowledge and collaborative spirit have empowered us to grow with confidence while ensuring we remain aligned with the needs of our client insureds and partners.
  • Michael Wright, Vice President of Claims: Michael has developed a best-in-class claims team rooted in empathy and responsiveness. His leadership has fostered a culture that prioritizes open communication, fairness, and swift resolutions, ensuring that injured workers receive the support they deserve and our client insureds achieve the positive outcomes they expect.
  • Valerie Peer, Vice President of Finance: Valerie has expertly guided us through every financial milestone with a steady hand. From navigating the uncertainties of our early days to crafting long-term strategies for sustainability and profitability, her leadership has been vital in ensuring that Nixer remains fiscally sound and focused on our client insureds’ futures.

Together, these leaders—and the exceptional teams they’ve cultivated—have helped shape an organization dedicated to serving our client insureds and partners with integrity, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to doing things the right way.
